What If You Get a Second interview?

You have passed the first interview and obviously made a great impression during the first one. This is a great sign that the employer is interested in you. The employer feels that they need to ask more questions for further information about you. There will be more and harder questions to answer. The questions may be similar to that of the first interview if are seen by a different interview panel.

The second interview could involve an all day interview. You might get the chance to meet the company employees. Don’t be afraid to contact the person who organised the interview for information about the day that way you will be prepared.

Research again and learn as much information as you can about the company. You may want to write down the questions they asked the first time around and brush up on your response to those questions. But also remember what you originally said.

Unless you are told to dress down, it is advisable that you dress appropriately for the second interview as you have not got the job yet. Wear different clothes.

It’s important that you take a few minutes to calm your nerves before your interview. Relax you are almost there to having the job that you applied for.

You now have the opportunity to ask questions or get information from the employer that you should have mentioned the first time around. There is a likely chance that you are in competition with another candidate and the employer is finding it difficult to choose which person they should employ. You can also reiterate your selling points.

If you are offered the job on the spot you do not have to immediately say yes or no to the position. As much as they are interviewing you for the second time, you are also interviewing them. Ask for some time to think and you will get back to them as soon as possible. This will give you the chance to really think over if this is the job for you. Are you making the right decision?
