Self Confidence – Improving your worth
When it comes to self confidence some people have it all. They are usually crowned the most likely to succeed at school or university and get that high spec job. They even have the best family life. These types of people are lucky at everything.
The question is how do these people have it made? There is no easy answer to such a question, but these people share the fact they glow with self confidence, they give off a sense of importance.
Most people would definitely say this is not fair, why don’t I have any luck? What’s wrong with me? We can self teach ourselves to behave in ways that other people will notice so they can respond positively. We can also focus on particular behavioural characteristics to demonstrate self confidence.
Self Confidence Key Points
Eye contact
People who stray from eye contact are perceived as intimidated by their speaker. It is construed as a lack of confidence not to look another in the eye as they are in return looking. People can implement power by staring at someone until they look away. If this is a case of a feeling of being uncomfortable, we should do a sporadic gaze at the individuals’ forehead.
How we speak
Self confidence is about how we communicate with people. How we talk to others. Our tone and the speed in which we speak measured by our voice is a sign of our expressive state. Speaking quickly in a high pitch voice will denote us as being anxious and lacking self confidence. If we speak too slowly we can be perceived as uncertain but an indication of speaking slightly slower than the usual can be interpreted as wanting to be heard
Gesticulation
People who generally keep their hands still and do not display nervous habits are powerful people. Gestures used with prominence are used intentional and significantly when speaking. We should to keep our gestures innate.
Our Posture
Our posture can disclose a lot to others. When our head is held down and shoulders drooped forward can tell someone we are not very happy. Self confident, enigmatic people always demonstrate a good posture, their head is held high and their back is straight, shoulders are drawn back and their chest is out. This kind of posture adds to elegant moves that others associate with composure.
The Way We Walk
Self-assured individuals walk at a faster, more energetic pace than those with low self-esteem. When we walk in a slow, worn-out approach, we appear to be troubled. We are sharper and more attentive when we walk faster. A faster pace not only makes us seem more determined; it bumps up our heart rate and increases the flow of blood to our brain and muscles.
Say Cheese
I must say a smile is the simplest and easiest of was to radiate self confidence. Smiling is telling everyone that no one is going to make you feel sad. This is also a way of getting other people to interact with us better.
Personal space
We can be perceived as self confident by not occupying another person’s space. Personal space can be interpreted in two ways. One way would be to maintain personal space at all times even if that person is moving closer toward you in an aggressive manner. The other is to not to be touched.
Personal Hygiene
People don’t need to dress to the hilt every time they step outside their front door. It is however, necessary to stay well groomed and have good personal hygiene and an appropriate dress sense.
Final thoughts about self-confidence
Emanating self-confidence is an evaluation of achievement by recognizing the difference between assertiveness and aggressiveness. Assertive behaviour is perceived as confidence; aggression is viewed as weakness. Self confidence promotes a swagger that comes naturally, not so much for those seeking to show confidence.
If it is an obligation to our morals or the eagerness to smile and stand tall when things aren’t going well, projecting self-confidence will eventually renovate us. It will also alter our luck as well and will allow us to make our own luck.
