Eight Ways to speak with confidence
To succeed in life you need to know how to speak with confidence. There are some people who know how to make an impact with their communication thus making them very confident in speaking. You can grab someone’s attention by speaking with confidence and get them yearning to hear more.
Practice makes perfect, try doing one of the following:
1. Feel comfortable
When you are relaxed you give the impression that you are more confident and it isn’t as difficult as it looks at first.
2. Dress in comfortable clothes
Feel comfortable in what you are wearing; your clothes don’t need to make an announcement.
3. Like the people around you
Don’t be that person who is always patronizing everyone. Meet and greet people with an constructive approach.
4. Speak slowly and clearly
When you are talking to someone, speak at a natural pace so that you accentuate on every word by speaking slowly and clearly, don’t rush your sentences. Speak with confidence and not worry about it, you don’t have to be loud over powering.
5. Build on your language
Using appropriate words to transmit appropriate opinions can build up your confidence. You don’t have to look in a dictionary every time you are about to have a conversation with someone. Knowing your words can help you to centre on the message you are portraying.
6. Concentrae on what people are saying
If you are attentive to what others say they are more likely to approach you. When paying attention you begin to stop worrying about your confidence and how you are going to talk.
7. Consider what you are talking about
When you know what you are saying and you believe in it, you tend to have a bit more poise and clearness in the way you are talking. There is no stuttering and you’re not speaking too slowly that you don’t know what to say. Some people frequently worry about other individual’s reactions when we speak and lack confidence.
8. Think before replying
If you are in a group discussion, take time before responding to think about whether you are agreeing or disagreeing with the argument in hand and how you intend to explain your argument. It is not about the impression you are making but maybe saying something that should not have been said.
