Tips for Behaving Less Aggressive

If you want to be less aggressive and more assertive then follow these few simple suggestions for changing your aggressive behaviour into assertive behaviour.

Let other people have their say. It’s essential to express yourself, but don’t be the only one constantly speaking and controlling the conversation. This is not allowing others to express themselves
People have opinions too, so respect what they think. You may not agree with what they say but they have the right to voice their opinion and the right to express it as they wish. Do not say that they are wrong, it’s better to say you do not agree
Steer clear of bullying and demanding behaviour
Try to be discreet and tactful about how you word your opinions to others. Sometimes what you are about to say could be painful and offensive towards them.
Beautify your remarks with a praise
Stay away from physically aggressive behaviour
Try choose assertive words and not aggressive
Instead of telling someone they are always interrupting why not say I would like a chance to say something
As well as being tactful about what to say to people, avoid making someone feel bullied. Don’t dictate what people must do or say and don’t be selfish or unreasonable
Being physically aggressive by shouting at someone, banging doors, throwing things around or invading peoples personal space can frighten and isolates them. Try and control your anger and apply physical control. This will help you gain respect
