Ten Personality Improvement Tips
Have you ever thought about improving your personality or has someone said you need to change certain characteristics about yourself. You need to make a list of the reasons why you want or need to change your character and how this could impinge on your life by doing so. Your personality is all about your behaviours, the way you feel and the way you think, thus making you a unique person. A likeable person has a good personality, someone you don’t mind being around or who is pleasant to be with. Some people have a personality that can cheer up everyone’s day as they come around. Most people want to be liked by others and having a good personality helps possibly even more than the way someone looks. Improving looks is a lot easier to develop to a certain extent than improving your personality to how you want it to be.
Here are some pointers in which you can achieve in changing your personality:
1. Accept the fact you have weak points
You need to know your weaknesses before you can ever develop your strengths and being in denial will never enable you to improve your personality. When this is achieved you can then work on it.
2. Appearance
You can usually attract more positive attention for being a well dressed and groomed person.
3. Keep up with a healthy lifestyle
Eating a healthy balanced diet, exercising frequently and getting enough sleep can, believe it or not, improve your personality. You are more pleasing to others if you keep up with this regime giving you that extra bit of vitality which everyone needs now and again.
4. Learn new things and be a good communicator
Starting to learn new things can help you to get in touch with new people; being intellectual and knowledgeable people are usually more confident about themselves affecting the way they work together with others. You will find you will be more interesting to people sharing your knowledge of what you have read and know. No one knows everything and when things are explained in an interesting way it can be stimulating to hear also, leaving a good impression.
5. Listen carefully
Some people are considered to be good listeners and have the ability to looking a person in the eyes and noting every word making them feel important. It is a pleasing to have someone listen to you absorbedly making you feel like you're the only person in the world.
6. Voice your opinion
It’s not nice when you are having a conversation; the other person has no opinion on anything and the conversation is not going anywhere. But maybe you have a different take with your opinion that can sway the conversation making it a more interesting topic. A distinctive point of view can increase someone else’s perspective.
7. Be natural
Even though you have just voiced your opinion, the worst thing you could do is to try too hard in the conversation in order to fit in. Trying to be a replica of someone else unveils the need to be genuine.
8. Socialise
Meet dissimilar people to yourself. You can have the opportunity to learn new ways of doing things and cultures. But, do not associate with people for the sake of being trendy but for the appreciation of genuine merits.
9. Be optimistic and have fun
No one wants to be around people have a negative vibe, criticise all the time, and generally don’t have a good word to say. That would definitely keep people running away from you. Look at the positive side of things and enjoy the company of someone who make you laugh. People are naturally attracted to you if you are a pleasurable and happy person. Keep a smile on your face, enlighten everyone else’s spirits.
10. Respectful, supportive and accepting to others
Trust and honesty is a big way of gaining the respect and appreciation of others, as well as respect for you. You can win friends by being supportive and helpful whenever you can but not because you have to. Treat others the way you want to be treated. The most appealing quality of all is probably being endearing.
