CARE SKILLS TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES

The organisation has designed, developed and facilitated various Care Skills training and development programmes. They are designed to support Care managers and staff and ensure that standards of care to clients/service users are delivered and maintained at the highest levels. The basis of the programme is to establish “best value” of service and have valued and competent managers and staff who know why and how to perform their duties. It is aimed at developing their practice, competence, Skills, knowledge and experience in the Care environment. All training consultants bring their experience of current professional practice and have collectively worked and provided training and consultancy services to a variety of organisations within the private, public and voluntary sectors in the following areas:

CARE SKILLS – PERSON CENTRED CARE AND ASSESSMENTS

The working environment offers a variety of challenges to individuals and teams as a whole. The course aims to enhance awareness and knowledge of the diverse needs of service users in order that these are recognised in all aspects of service delivery and in the work place. Participants need to recognise that their skills, knowledge and attitudes to service users have a significant effect on the quality of care provided.

COMMON INDUCTION STANDARDS
FOR NEW CARE WORKERS

The Common Induction Standards are designed for people entering social care work and those changing roles or employers within Adult Social Care. They set out the areas of knowledge that care workers need to know before they can work unsupervised. All new starters on the frontline care sector, in particular those who have not worked in the care field before.

Our redundancy programme can offer adults who have been made redundant within the last six months, or are under notice of redundancy, a range of education and training services to develop skills to help them to retain employment or find new employment. The aim is to equip individuals with the skills to fit emerging job opportunities.

COMMUNICATING WITH CARE

Communicating is an everyday process. The ability to communicate effectively is an important business and personal skill. However, communicating well requires much skill. As a Care worker, a large part of your work depends on your ability to communicate well with your service users. Communication will only be as successful as the people who are communicating. Communication is broadly divided into verbal and non verbal forms and effective communication relies on your ability to choose the form most suitable for the situation. THE AGEING PROCESS

Current statistical figures indicate that there is an ageing population and that it is rising. It is estimated that within the coming years, there will be more people of retirement age than working. There are increasing numbers of elderly users requiring care and/or medical treatment. This has implications for service delivery and the provision of care services. The programme will enable participants to share a common understanding of what the ageing process is and to explore the range of issues concerning ageing.
