REPORT WRITING AND CARE PLANNING SKILLS TRAINING

AIMS:

The ability to communicate effectively is an important care and personal skill. Communication will only be as successful as the people who are communicating. Report writing and care planning are essential skills in the care environment and are not necessarily skills that come naturally.

Adult Social Care services are changing. The service needs to gain the Care Quality Commission (CQC) accreditation. The purpose of the regulations is to ensure the quality of care and support that service users receive. The Inspectorate is also keen on outcome focused work. Care plans are essential in promoting good service user outcomes or satisfaction. Care support workers will now be required to complete outcomes focussed care plans. Care plans will need to demonstrate outcomes for the service user in terms of care provision and delivery.

This three (3) day programme is for participants who want to master the basics and increase their confidence and practice in writing reports and care plans. The aim is for participants to improve their skills in writing, recording and completing Outcomes Focused Care Plans. The programme aims to provide a practical guide to managers and care support workers on the essential skills that are needed to write effective Outcomes Focused Care Plans.
