PRESENTATION SKILLS - 2 DAYS
AIMS:
The ability to speak confidently and communicate effectively is an important business and personal skill.Effective communication
is the key to gaining co-operation and understanding from others. The programme provides a guide to participants on the
important skills and techniques needed to deliver dynamic presentations.
The course covers the key aspects of planning and preparation needed to make a successful presentation. The aim of the course is to give participants greater confidence in speaking to groups of people. The course is a practical session for participants to demonstrate their presentation skills, answer questions and receive feedback from their peers and facilitator. The programme is aimed at individuals who want to make better and more effective presentations in general and at the interview selection stage if this is required.
OBJECTIVES:
By the end of the course participants will:
- Have examined and discussed what a presentation is and its importance
- Have assessed how they prepare and give presentations
- Have identified key stages and features of a presentation
- Have identified and discussed presentation skills and a range of techniques to use to communicate information and ideas
- Explored and discussed different presentation modes and multi media presentations
- How to plan, organise and structure a presentation
- Have understood the importance of non verbal behaviour
- How to use language, gestures, facial expression and voice for greater impact
- Have practiced confidence building techniques to overcome nervousness and anxiety
- How to use visual aids effectively and avoid pitfalls
- Have practised making a presentation
- Have given and received feedback on their presentation
A practical and participative course with attention being focused on the individual development of skills. The course combines trainer presentation, discussions, group work, manual and handouts.
