REPORT WRITING SKILLS FOR MANAGERS

AIMS:

The ability to communicate effectively is an important business and personal skill. Communication will only be as successful as the people who are communicating. Report writing is an essential skill in the work place today and is a specialised form of written communication. It is an important written communication skill and not necessarily one that comes naturally.

The course is for managers with little or no formal training or experience in report writing who want to master t he basics and increase their confidence. It also provides an ideal opportunity for managers to improve their current report writing skills and re-assess their current abilities and develop new skills. The course aims to provide a practical guide to managers on the essential skills that are needed to write effective reports.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Examined and discussed the purpose and types of reports
  • Identified and discussed the key aspects of report writing

  • Identified and discussed issues concerning the use of words, language, style and tone in writing reports
  • Examined and discussed the importance and appropriate use of spelling, punctuation, grammar and terminology in writing reports
  • Identified and discussed key areas for their personal development
